Gearing up to the new Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 that will be with us less than a week away now - we are introducing new idea's and feature's to entertain our member's, and something we have been wanting to introduce for a while now is the PSL Featured Player section.
Players who have shown great skill, users who have contributed so much to the community or people who have shown something worthy of recognition. That is the criteria to be the PSL Featured Player, and I am thrilled to say that the first ever winner, TheMoonRat ticks all those boxes.
If you want to read his interview, and what his thought's on PES2010 are, his best and worst opponent's and his funniest moment in Pro Evo history then click here.

Interview
Your probably the most influencial player behind the PSL, due to the fact it was you who co-created the now infamous pes4online. For people who don't know, the pes4online launcher was a piece of software where you could chat to people, and organise matches between each other. The PSL was founded because of the lack of good and FAIR league's about for the massive player base you had. So becuase of this, your obviously a massive Pro Evolution Soccer fan. Are you looking forward to the new PES2010?
I'm looking forward to it re-uniting the PSL community. Unfortunately, the past couple of years has seen Pro Evo games with unplayable netcode, and at the same time seen the console FIFA rise up to be the premier football game available. Those two things splintered PSL a fair bit; some moving onto FIFA leagues, while others have clinged onto PES6. What we all need is a common great new Pro Evo game on the PC to bring us back to where we started. All fingers crossed Pro Evo 2010 does that!
Your a big fan of the much heralded Pro Evolution Soccer 6 aren't you? Why is that?
Well unfortunately as I've said the last 2 releases have had terrible netcode. For me, offline Pro Evo is far too easy even on the hardest settings, so it's online or nothing. But that's not to say Pro Evo 6 doesn't deserve special praise on merit; it's my most played Pro Evo game ever! It may be over scripted, but it had a good balance of simulation & arcade football, and 2v2 online matches are the most fun I've ever had online. Nothing can beat a well worked team goal.
Your also the reigning PSL Quad League champion, after a last-day title win. Being the reigning champion mean's you have to come back and try and hold onto your title. Will Season 11 of the PSL see you return?
Let's hope so! I've just moved from a house with fantastic internet pings and 15meg download speed, to a shared house with terrible pings and 2meg download speed. Desperately trying to get that sorted so I can defend my first ever PSL title
Over all your years of playing in the PSL, you have played a lot of players. Who would you say is the best, and who is the worst players you have matched up against in the PSL, and what is your funniest moment?
Best player... hmmm well "styles make fights" as they say; Markey is a fantastic player, but I find him comparatively easy to play against, whereas I really struggle against Akaash, who is on a similar level I'd say. But my biggest rivalry down the years of online Pro Evo has been against nosamaj. Even since Pro Evo 4, we've had some epic games; him winning more often than not, but with most games thrillingly close and decided on the narrowest of margins.
Worst player... pes4online creator skn3 was never that good PigBenis, Biff and La are hardly Pele, Maradonna and Cruyff either, yet they keep participating in PSL because they just love playing the game; some players should take a leaf out of their book!
Funniest moment... regular PSLers will know of a certain MajorMizzle; a 12/13 year old kid who kept hassling me to be a tournament host back in the pes4online days. With English abilities on par with a 5 year old, and the persistent nagging of a 5 year old, he really was something special. Highlights including threating to get his mum to tell me off for not being nice to him, and this classic speech he sent me:
Moving away from Pro Evo for a minute, are there any other games you play a lot of?
I'm loving the new Tales of Monkey Island episodes lately; recently played some old point & clicks like Broken Sword and Beneath a Steel Sky. Before that I was addicted to Left 4 Dead since release; a fantastic co-op online game!
Finally, to REAL LIFE football for a quick question. After seeing England last night play relatively well against a well organised Belarus team, how do you see our chance's of World Cup glory?
We have one of the best managers in the world in charge of the team, so there can be no excuses in that department like there were with Sven or the Wally with a Brolly. If we fail to win the world cup, it will be because our players aren't good enough, simple as. Can we win it? I think anyone of the top 10 FIFA ranked teams have the potential to win it if things go their way on the day, so yes.
Quick congratulation's from myself first. From the day's of pes4online to now, you have been a supporter of the PSL, so thank you for that. But you have also been a great community member, pipping in with great addition's to the PSL like your squad's for PES6 and your goalserver GUI's.
nice interview, mouse. You could have asked something about the online launcher though, cause most of our members came from there to PSL when PES5 was out.

Nice interview, no wonder Parky gave up! What do you mean I'm hardly Maradona? Nobody roulettes or has skills like me!
I hadn't heard of Tales of Monkey Island, I'll have to get that. I was well into the earlier ones back in the day on my Amiga. I've also recently started Broken Sword 2 on my craptop.

Cool, how big are the files? I've just had a look on the site and see they are releasing each chapter of the game monthly and there are two months to go. I think I would rather play it all in one go. I remember pretty much completing Monkey Island 2 as soon as I got it, I really got into it and ended up playing all night!
I think that was a bit harsh on Biff, i think your a great player mate, proper good games always!
Notice you didn't defend Pig in the same way
I didn't mean anything bad on Biff; he's a much better 2v2 player imo. However, when thinking about the question, and the length of time he's been in the PSL compared to the relative lack of success... Great person tho and always fun to play against / with.
Thanks to Mouse for the interview and for picking the most flattering pic possible from facebook (me absolutely shattered mid-way through Leeds festival; on a trip to get more alcohol)
