Because it was crap and now Torres' season is over so is Liverpool's. We probably won't even qualify for next season's Europa, let alone the Champions League. That will then make it less likely that we'll get a buyer as we won't be worth as much as Hicks and Gillette want. Then Rafa will feck off to Juve and we'll be left with Sammy Lee in charge and not be able to afford a decent manager until the ownership issue is sorted. Sammy Lee will then bring back Phil Thompson as his assistant and we will finish mid table next season.
On the other hand we will whip Atletico's arse next week and go on to win the Europa League then make UEFA give us a place in next season's tourney as holders. Do holders qualify automatically? We will then still have a good revenue stream although not as good as it would be in the Champions League we would probably earn just as much if we got a good run compared to being knocked out the Champions League at the first group stage. This would make us a better proposition for investors and we could then be taken over by some seriously rich Arab who will buy us 4 quality players in the Summer and start work on the new stadium. We then go on to win the Premiership and the Europa League next season. Hurrah!
