Never seen anything like it. For 70 odd minutes we were comfortable against them but then Coleman bizarrely brought Leon Best off who was winning everything in the air and brought on an 18 year old centre back and played him at centre forward, it was like watching bambi on ice, and left Freddy Eastwood who's scored 6 in 5 games up front on the right wing! Totally bizarre. Then to concede an o.g with pretty much the last kick of 90 mins you start to think this is going to go wrong. Then just as it looked like I'd witness my first ever penalty shootout Pompey snatch the win with the last play of extra time. I really like Chris Coleman but he's obsessed with not losing, they were there for the taking but it was like he's drilled it into them to protect a lead at all costs.

Its going to take a few days to get over that one I can tell you!

Re: Elliott Ward, Coleman said last night the transfer had broken down at Southamptons end. He was our top earner so I'm guessing its do with wages. On his day he's really good and a threat from set pieces, but he does have a knack of making some real howlers and likes to 'play' a bit too much if you know what I mean. A lot of our fans think he's still our best centre back but he's not getting a look in at the moment, mainly because they want to free the wages up I think. Rumoured to be on £12k a week.
