I think Hodgson is a good choice and best they could get. I agree with Sooty, who said Hodgson is ideal to deal in transfer market with not much money etc.
I can see him getting some good bargains.
This will be the big difference between him and Rafa, Rafa had no clue really.

If today's paper gossip is true they aren't bad transfer targets, especially van der Vaart.
Liverpool-bound Roy Hodgson wants to spend the £15m transfer budget he will be handed when he checks in as boss at Anfield on midfielder Gilberto Silva, defender Brede Hangeland, forward Rafael van der Vaart and midfielder Danny Murphy.

Now you got your man Biff :)

Joe Cole is a good signing, no doubt.

Hodgson managed to get a winger in 2 weeks, Rafa couldnt in 5 years lol

Superb signing for Liverpool , also proves my fear that United cant even afford to get a freebie on board . . . dark days ahead

On a positive not i ordered my Community Shield tickets tonight .

I'll be there to watch Chavski toy with us like a Cat with a mouse

We've effectively swapped Yossi for Joe Cole and got £5million too, I'll take that, great bit of business.

Rafa signed Jovanovic...

Oh and Cole said before joining he wants to play centrally wherever he goes.

Jovanovic isnt bad imo. Not a great player but at least kinda fast and can dribble etc. and he seems to be some kuyt like type who annoys opponents by being there all the time and makes some goals because he is there where he is needed most times.

Not a bad signing, especially for free.

I've totally missed all the news. My cousin said earlier that Yossi had already left and broke the news about Joe Cole signing.

hmm Some quality signings seems very narrow at the min though with them all wanting to play central.....but this midfield isn't bad if he can keep hold of what you already got, a couple of decent defenders and a quality striker and you'll be a threat injury free:

Reina, Mascherano, Jovanovic, Cole, Gerrard, Aquilani, Torres.......decent.

Yeah, I might have a wee bet on us winning the Prem. We are 17 on Betfair which isn't bad. We did finish second two years ago and I reckon we would have done a lot better last term if it wasn't for Rafa's crap team selections and Torres' injuries.
